My real name is Tony Smith but my nickname is Bonz (pronounced bones), which I acquired when I was a kid and the name just stuck. I figured my web site's name should be BonzArts.com and easy to remember. Anyway, I am a sculpture artist in my early 50’s, and I used to live in Colorado but recently reconnected with the love of my life, married her and moved back to California.
I have found pieces that I incorporate into my sculptures in riverbeds, around train tracks, and one of my favorite places is the ocean; You just don't know how long something has been floating around in the ocean. I use old rusty things like a weathered old can, a railroad spike, or even a car part. I try to include a clock gear or something symbolic of the passage of time in every abstract piece I create - I admire anything that stands the test of time. I tend to remember my dreams and some of my work comes from visions I see in them. Most pieces are built spontaneously though, I really have no idea what it is going to look like and that is what makes it a one-of-a-kind piece.
You are welcome to check out some of my creations at BonzArts.com and email any questions or comments you have.
Thank you for your interest.
